In Photoshop CC 2017, Adobe made a choice to abandon Refine Edge in favor of the all-new Select and Mask workspace. Well, you can still get Refine Edge back if you know the secret, and in this tutorial you’ll learn how to do just that!

I develop online training courses for people to learn creative skills and tools. I also serve as the producer, editor, and quality assurance for all of my courses, as well as assisting in the curriculum planning/development for the creative library.

To date I’ve authored over 80 online courses, which cover over 230 hours of content. My courses have been viewed by millions of people from all over the world, and the curriculum of some of my courses is also being used at some of the top universities in the United States. I cover a variety of topics including Adobe Creative Cloud tools, Social Media Marketing, Graphic Design Theory, Web Design, and Business Skills. In addition to my courses I also speak throughout the year at industry events like HOW Design LIVE, NAB, AIGA Design, PePCon, The Photoshop Conference, and Adobe MAX.

If the selection is on a white background then the only way to not show the white background is to use "multiply" when placing it on another background? I want the selection on a transparent background instead of white. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

The overlay tip is clutch. I cutout lots of plush dolls and soft sweaters so that's going to make a high difference in my work. Thanks!
